Surfacewater moves at blue this week. We open still carrying the red electric of last week's GEMINI awakening, mind quickened, senses reoriented, zinging of having touched  something vast and unprecedented in the URANUS CAZIMI still moving through fields around us. Now the sky shifts tone. Brightness of recent days meets underground.

This is a week that asks us to go deeper than comfort, and to find, in that going, something more reliable.

On May 24 with the SUN in GEMINI forms a sextile to NEPTUNE in ARIES. There is a softness to this, a slight dissolution at the edges of ordinary perception, that makes the world look briefly more porous, more interconnected, more alive with meaning than the rational mind can quite account for. Dreams may carry more than usual. Intuition arrives ahead of explanation. Let it. This is the gentlest aspect of the week and it arrives first, like a long breath taken before something significant is said.

May 26 arrives with both hands full. MARS in TAURUS forms a square to PLUTO in AQUARIUS, and on the same day the SUN in GEMINI forms a trine to PLUTO. Friction and flow arriving simultaneously, underground and aerial in direct conversation with one another. This is the week's most complex and most significant day, and it deserves our full attention.

MARS and PLUTO is a pressure point. MARS in TAURUS carries life force in its most embodied and deliberate form, slow and sustained and deeply physical, rooted in the body's own rhythm and desire. PLUTO in AQUARIUS holds current of collective transformation, slow and inexorable dissolving of what has outlived its purpose in structures we share. When these two meet in a square, friction is real. It surfaces wherever we have been gripping what is already in the process of changing. Wherever we have been choosing the known over the alive. Wherever our physical and emotional bodies have been bracing against a movement that the deeper self has already agreed to make.

In practical life this may arrive as confrontation, internal or external, with pattern sewn beneath our choices for longer than we admit. A power dynamic i relationship made suddenly visible. A material situation asks for more honesty. A moment where what we have been calling safety reveals itself as something closer to avoidance. The square insists we look clearly at where we are holding on from fear of the open space that letting go would create.

There is CHOICE here. That is the word that matters most on this day. Not fate or force, but choice. The square illuminates what we are resisting, and then it waits. Our bodies will register this as tension, as a tightness in the chest or the solar plexus and mid back, as that particular quality of resistance that feels like solidity but is actually contraction. You may have already felt this this past week. I have. Note it down to connection, participation more than anticipation. Breathe into it (not a poetic instruction, a literal one). The breath moving into the contracted place is the first act of choosing differently.

And on the same day, the SUN in GEMINI trines PLUTO, and what the square makes friction of, the trine makes available. The SUN in GEMINI carries the mind's capacity to see from multiple perspectives simultaneously, to hold contradiction without collapsing it prematurely into resolution. PLUTO in AQUARIUS carries the depth beneath the surface of all collective structures, that persist beneath what we have agreed to call reality. The trine between them is an open door into a more expanded self-understanding. Ideas and narratives we have used to define ourselves begin to loosen their grip on the same day that MARS and PLUTO are making friction in the body. We see more clearly at precisely the moment the we are asked to release more honestly. These two aspects together are in felt collaboration. Let both work. Let your body feel the friction and your mind witness it with curiosity rather than alarm. Let your deeper self, which has always known more than the frightened part of us has been willing to admit, take a small step forward.

VENUS in CANCER on May 28 forms a square to SATURN in ARIES, and the week moves into its most tender conversation. VENUS in CANCER is the heart at its most genuinely vulnerable. She is the part of us that wants to be held, that longs for genuine intimacy and emotional safety, that knows how to offer care with an ease and a depth that can feel, sometimes, like our most natural state. SATURN in ARIES is the part of us that wants to build something real in the world, that aspires to move with courage and individual authority, that needs to know that who it is and what it wants matters enough to be acted upon without apology. When these two form a square, they ask if vulnerability and courage occupy the same body at the same time? And if intimacy and independence coexist genuinely, or does one always require the sacrifice of the other?

Take a second to choose your own answer before going on to read mine. Read the question again, close your eyes, allow what rises to rise.

The square says they can. But not without the willingness to feel the tension rather than resolve it prematurely in either direction. This is not the day to harden the heart in the name of strength, nor to soften the will in the name of love. It is the day to let the heart lead the courage rather than the courage dismissing the heart. To discover that real strength does not require the absence of feeling, and that real intimacy does not require the surrender of self. In practical terms this may arrive as a conversation in a close relationship that asks for both honesty and tenderness simultaneously. A moment where what we need and what someone else needs are not easily reconciled, and where the only way through is genuine presence with the discomfort rather than a managed retreat to a more comfortable position. SATURN in ARIES has no patience for management. VENUS in CANCER has no appetite for coldness. Find the place where these two truths can breathe in the same room.

In AYURVEDA, this week moves through the PITTA and VATA meeting point, fire and air, depth and movement, the seen and the hidden. The medicine is in the water element that VENUS in CANCER offers, in genuine emotional honesty and in the nourishment that comes from letting ourselves be actually known by another person. Warm baths. Time near water if it is available. The deliberate act of allowing softness to be a form of courage rather than its absence.

The week closes with the BLUE MOON in SAGITTARIUS gathering on the horizon for May 31, a rare second FULL MOON in a calendar month arriving in the sign of expansion, philosophy, and the wide open question of what we believe the world is capable of offering us. We will feel it building in the final days of this week as a particular quality of spaciousness beginning to arrive beneath the intensity. As though the week's compression is preparing to release into something larger and more generously lit. More on that later in the week on my SUBSTACK.
