For the CRINKLY END of SUMMER

The long dry summer has left us a little crinkly. A little parched at the root. Even before we get around to really mentally digesting our skin knows what the season has asked of it and it is ready, now, for something different.

In Ayurveda, late summer draws VATA in through the door. Air and ether, that beautiful restless dryness that is also the energy of change, of transition, of our physical and subtle bodies asking to be held more tenderly than they needed to be in the full heat of things. Today we may not register it as a seasonal shift so much as a vague feeling of being slightly less ourselves. Slightly less plump. Slightly more in need of resource.

This welcomes a wonderfully timed window for the ORGANIC SKINCARE SMALL BATCH.

I have been teaching holistic ritual for longer than I can remember, and the thing I know in my bones. the thing I come back to every time, is that the practice only holds when it is simple. Not another unobtainable objective to fall short of. A golden anchor. Something that takes two minutes and returns you, reliably, through your own skin, to you.

In the weeks ahead I suggest this -

Begin with the AYURVEDIC OIL CLEANSER. Sea buckthorn, tamanu, frankincense and lavender. A pump or two into the hands, massaged in slow upward circles into the face. The aromatherapy alone will change the energetic. Remove with a warm damp cloth and stand still for a moment in what it feels like to be begun again without being scrubbed. This ritual, once started, tends not to be given up. It quietly becomes non-negotiable. It may not just change your skin. It very likely will change how you begin and end each day. If you are pressed for time, create this moment in the evenings, wipe the day away, free yourself for the night.

Then layer. The HYDRATION MIST, first misted close, pressed gently into the skin with the palms. Then a choice (or both if you are really feeling it) of the FACE OIL, warmed between the fingers before it meets the face or the FACE CREAM, just enough, the tiniest cloud of luxe to renew and rejoice with. Over a week of this the skin builds what I think of as a plump base, a reservoir of hydration and nourishment that gives the coming season something to draw on rather than stripping from.

The window is OPEN now. It closes when the batch is full, which never takes long.
