PISCES SEASON - A HOLISTIC APPROACH to TENDING the UNSEEN

Opening between ECLIPSES and running from February 18th until March 20th, the SUN travels through PISCES, the final sign of the ZODIAC. The light softens. The air thickens. Sound carries differently. What felt defined only weeks ago begins to blur at the edges.

In the Northern Hemisphere, this is late winter. KAPHA gathers and begins to loosen. The earth is saturated. Ice melts from underneath. Water travels through hidden channels before we see any visible bloom. In the body, the same movement occurs. Fluids increase. The lymphatic system which PISCES governs internally asks to circulate. Synovial fluids (between the joint spaces), glands, the quiet immune intelligence that protects without fanfare, all come into focus.

Externally, PISCES rules the feet. Structurally, it governs the bones of the feet — the architecture that bears our weight while remaining adaptable. These are not abstract correspondences. When PISCES is activated, we feel it in swelling, in fatigue, in porous boundaries, in the need to rest or release. We feel it in dreams. We feel it in endings.

This year, the waters are not passive.

A gathering of PLANETS in PISCES saturates the atmosphere early in the season. The SUN, MERCURY, VENUS, and then MARS move through this mutable water sign, thickening perception and heightening emotional conviction. Feeling becomes persuasive. Imagination becomes immersive. Compassion deepens, but so can confusion. When so much energy moves through PISCES, discernment must become devotional rather than reactive.

Meanwhile, SATURN and NEPTUNE have shifted into ARIES, forming a conjunction that reverberates beneath the surface of the season. NEPTUNE dissolves. SATURN defines. In ARIES, they stir instinct and urgency. The dream demands action. The fantasy meets consequence. You may feel moments of fierce clarity followed by waves of uncertainty. The psyche is being reshaped at its roots.

On February 26th, MERCURY turns retrograde in PISCES. Communication slows, tangles, deepens. Old conversations resurface. Former partners may reappear, not always to reconcile, but to reveal what was unfinished. Memory floods. Logic softens. The mind swims rather than walks. This is not a mistake in the cosmos. It is a call inward.

Under MERCURY retrograde in PISCES, the nervous system becomes impressionable. It absorbs tone, subtext, unspoken currents. Boundaries thin. PISCES becomes lived experience. The lymphatic system mirrors the psyche. When drainage is slow, heaviness accumulates. When fluid moves, clarity returns.

The LUNAR ECLIPSE in VIRGO on March 3rd. The axis of PISCES and VIRGO is the axis of surrender and refinement. Ocean and grain. Faith and function. The VIRGO MOON under ECLIPSE light does not indulge vagueness. It illuminates what is not working in the daily fabric of your life. It brings information quickly, sometimes abruptly. Sleep may be disrupted. Emotions may crest and break in the same breath. ECLIPSES accelerate timelines. They do not create what is not already forming; they expose it. If you have been dissolving your boundaries too readily, this ECLIPSE may demand structure. If you have clung to control, it may require surrender. The body often knows first. Tightness in the feet. Swelling. Sudden fatigue. A wave of grief without obvious origin.

Later in the season, as VENUS moves into ARIES and JUPITER stations direct in CANCER, nourishment returns to the heart. Emotional confidence steadies. By the time the NEW MOON in PISCES arrives just before the EQUINOX, something has quietly ended. Something unnamed has completed its cycle. This is not dramatic astrology. It is consequential astrology.

From an AYURVEDIC perspective, this is a time to protect ojas while encouraging gentle movement of excess KAPHA. Warm, fluid meals. Bitter greens to support lymph. Adequate rest without collapse. Aromatics that regulate permeability — rose to soften without dissolving, frankincense to strengthen subtle boundaries, sandalwood (sustainable) to cool the mind without extinguishing warmth.

PISCES teaches that healing is tidal. It arrives in waves. It requires trust in processes we cannot entirely see. And this is why personal ASTROLOGY matters profoundly now.A stellium in PISCES does not land generically. MERCURY retrograde does not tangle every life in the same way. A VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE does not expose the same fault lines in every chart. For some, this season reshapes intimacy. For others, vocation, health, creativity, or spiritual orientation. The houses activated, the PLANETS aspected, the natal promises being stirred — these details change everything.

If you feel the tide rising in your own life — if something is ending, returning, or quietly insisting upon clarity — an ASTROLOGY READING offers orientation. We look at where dissolution is necessary, where structure must strengthen, and how to protect your vitality while the waters move.

PISCES SEASON does not ask you to command the ocean. It asks you to know where you stand, how you float, and when it is time to let go. If this resonates, my books are open.

SUN | MOON | RISING

As the SUN moves through PISCES, as MERCURY retraces its steps, as the MOON darkens and then flares into ECLIPSE, remember that this sign governs the systems that clear what has been lived. The lymph must move. The feet must be felt. The glands must not be exhausted. PISCES does not demand spectacle. It requires care in the unseen places.

Read through your SUN | MOON | RISING to know where this week’s energy unfolds in your chart. Take what resonates, leave the rest.

If this writing resonates, if it nourishes your thinking, your sensing, your way of meeting the season, you’re welcome to support its continuation. ARIES

PISCES SEASON moves behind you, into the quiet chamber of your chart. You may feel it as sudden tiredness, as heaviness behind the eyes, as dreams that wake you at 3am with salt on your skin. The nervous system softens whether you permit it or not. With MERCURY retrograde here, memory loops through the body. Old anger may surface as a sigh instead of a shout. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE lands in your house of health and daily rhythm. You may feel it in the gut, in disrupted sleep, in the realisation that your body cannot be driven in the same way. This is not a season to conquer. It is a season to restore the parts of you that no one sees.

TAURUS

For you, PISCES SEASON washes through friendship and future longing. You may feel it as a pull in the chest when you think about who truly understands you. The body registers subtle disappointment if a community no longer fits. With so many PLANETS in PISCES, hope and illusion can braid together. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE activates romance and creative life. You may feel a flush of clarity in the heart space. A tightening when something is not reciprocated. Pleasure becomes honest now. No more pretending something is enough when it is not.

GEMINI

This season rises up your spine into visibility. The SUN in PISCES illuminates your public path, but it may feel foggy. You might notice tension in the shoulders, the weight of expectation pressing between them. MERCURY, your ruler, retrograde in PISCES can feel like speaking underwater. Words do not land as cleanly. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE shakes the foundations of home. You may feel it in the base of the spine, in the feet that want steadier ground. Career decisions are not separate from emotional truth now.

CANCER

PISCES SEASON expands your breath. There is longing for meaning, for devotion, for something larger than daily life. You may feel it as an ache beneath the ribs, a desire to travel, study, pray, or simply sit by water. MERCURY retrograde invites you to question beliefs you inherited. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE lands in your house of voice. Your throat may tighten before you speak truth. A conversation alters direction. What you say — or refuse to say — carries weight.

LEO

This is a deep tide for you. PISCES SEASON moves through intimacy, shared resources, psychological undercurrents. You may feel it in the pelvis, in the pulse of desire, in unexpected waves of jealousy or vulnerability. With MERCURY retrograde here, old emotional contracts resurface. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE activates your sense of value. You may feel a sharp awareness in the solar plexus. What are you giving? What are you receiving? The body does not lie.

VIRGO

The SUN in PISCES stands opposite you, illuminating partnership. You will feel this season through mirrors. In the way someone looks at you. In the tension across the shoulders during a difficult exchange. With MERCURY retrograde in PISCES, miscommunication can feel personal. The LUNAR ECLIPSE in your own sign is a turning point. You may feel it in the skin, in sudden sensitivity, in the bones of the feet that PISCES governs across from you. Identity is shedding. You cannot perfect your way through this. You must allow the shift.

LIBRA

PISCES SEASON flows into your daily work and wellbeing. You may feel it as fluctuating energy, as water retention, as the need for gentler mornings. The lymphatic system — ruled by PISCES — may speak through subtle swelling or fatigue if you ignore rest. MERCURY retrograde can tangle schedules. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE activates your unconscious patterns. Sleep may become vivid. Old grief may move through the body without narrative. Honour it. It is clearing.

SCORPIO

Water greets water. PISCES SEASON awakens creativity, pleasure, sensuality. You may feel it as warmth in the lower belly, as the urge to paint, write, make love, or retreat into beauty. Yet with MERCURY retrograde, past lovers may brush against your thoughts like ghosts. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE shifts friendships and long-term visions. You may feel a cooling in the heart around certain connections. Not every bond is meant to endure this refinement.

SAGITTARIUS

This season settles into your home and ancestry. You may feel it as nostalgia that sits heavy in the chest. As the desire to rearrange a room, to cook something your grandmother made, to understand where you come from. MERCURY retrograde can reopen family conversations. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE activates career. You may feel a tightening along the jaw when confronted with professional truth. The outer life must align with inner belonging.

CAPRICORN

PISCES SEASON softens your usually structured mind. Thoughts drift. Attention wanders. You may feel it as pressure behind the forehead, as mental fatigue, as intuitive flashes that interrupt logic. MERCURY retrograde can create miscommunication with siblings or colleagues. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE expands belief systems. You may feel a lift in the chest when a new philosophy lands. Or discomfort when an old one dissolves. Certainty is loosening.

AQUARIUS

After your season, the focus turns to value and security. PISCES SEASON may feel like subtle anxiety around resources. A flutter in the stomach when money is discussed. MERCURY retrograde asks you to review what you truly consider stable. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE activates shared finances and emotional entanglements. You may feel heat in the body when imbalance is revealed. Transparency restores equilibrium.

PISCES

This is your season. The SUN moves through your sign and you may feel both luminous and exposed. Sensitivity heightens. You may notice it in the skin, in the soles of the feet, in the way noise feels sharper. With MERCURY retrograde in your sign, self-perception wavers. Doubt and inspiration coexist. The VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE activates partnership. You may feel it in the heart space — a relationship reaching threshold. You are redefining yourself through reflection. The tide is personal.

PISCES SEASON is lived through the body first. Through sleep, through swelling, through tears, through the bones of the feet that carry us forward even as something dissolves behind us. If you want to understand precisely where this water is moving in your own chart — and how to work with it rather than against it — a personal ASTROLOGY READING offers that map.

A HOLISTIC APPROACH to PISCES SEASON - TENDING the UNSEEN

PISCES SEASON arrives as winter loosens its grip but has not yet released us. The light is changing, yet the ground remains saturated. In the body, KAPHA begins to liquefy. What was stored over the cold months starts to move. This is not yet spring’s brightness. It is seepage. It is thaw. It is the sound of water travelling beneath the surface.

PISCES governs the lymphatic system internally, the synovial fluids and the functions of the glands in general. Externally, it rules the feet. Structurally, it governs the bones of the feet themselves. PISCES is not simply emotion or imagination. It is the body’s subtle drainage system. It is immunity. It is lubrication. It is the architecture that allows us to stand, and the fluids that allow us to bend.

As the SUN moves through PISCES, the boundaries between systems soften. The lymph asks to move. The joints ask to be nourished. The psyche becomes porous. During this season, especially when MERCURY turns retrograde in PISCES and the MOON swells towards ECLIPSE, we are asked to care for permeability without losing form.

TEA for PISCES SEASON

Choose nettle leaf as your foundation. Nettle is mineral-rich and quietly fortifying, supporting the glands and the immune intelligence without heaviness. Add calendula flower to encourage lymphatic flow and gentle detoxification through the tissues PISCES governs. A small shaving of fresh turmeric root or ginger can be included to keep fluids moving as KAPHA thaws, preventing stagnation in joints and synovial spaces.

Pour freshly boiled water over the herbs and allow them to steep for at least fifteen minutes, covered, so the volatile compounds remain contained. The colour will be green-gold, earthy and alive. I like to make mine in a kilner jar with a towel wrapped on the keep the warmth.

Drink this tea warm in the mid-morning or early afternoon. As you sip, imagine the fluid intelligence of your body clearing what is no longer required. Feel the small articulations of the feet within your shoes. Notice the subtle glide of joints.

This is tea is a daily tonic. It supports the internal rulership of PISCES by tending lymph, glands, and lubrication with steadiness.

AYURVEDIA RITUAL for PISCES SEASON

Late winter into early spring is a delicate transition in AYURVEDA. KAPHA increases before it clears. We must support ojas whilst encouraging flow.

Upon waking, before speaking, sit at the edge of your bed and place both feet flat upon the floor. The feet are PISCES territory. They are endings and beginnings at once. With your thumbs, press slowly into the arches, tracing along the bones that PISCES structurally governs. This stimulates circulation through the lower extremities and awakens the lymphatic return.

Then, perform a gentle self-massage only to the feet and ankles using warm oil infused with frankincense or myrrh. These resins are not decorative. They steady the mind and strengthen the boundary of the subtle body. They remind the system that softness can be held within containment.

After oiling, stand and slowly roll through the feet from heel to toe, feeling the transfer of weight. This honours the structural rulership of PISCES and prevents the dispersal that can accompany strong water seasons.

EMBODIED PRACTICE for PICSES SEASON

During PISCES SEASON, especially under a VIRGO LUNAR ECLIPSE, clarity can arrive with emotional surge. The lymphatic system responds to breath and movement, not force.

In the evening, lie on your back with your legs elevated against a wall. Allow gravity to assist lymphatic return from the feet and lower legs towards the heart. Rest your hands lightly upon the lower abdomen, where fluid and emotion often pool. Breathe slowly through the nose, lengthening the exhale.

Stay for ten minutes. Let thoughts come and go without pursuit. This posture supports the internal drainage systems PISCES governs and soothes the glands. It also counters the tendency to dissolve into overwhelm during ECLIPSE tides. You are not escaping. You are recalibrating.

CREATIVITY in PISCES SEASON

PISCES is the final sign of the ZODIAC. It contains memory. It contains residue. It contains dream.

Choose a small bowl of water and place it upon a table beside a candle. Sit before it in the evening. Reflect upon what you are ready to release before the SUN enters ARIES. Write a single sentence upon a small piece of paper. Fold it once. Dip the edge into the water. Watch the ink blur.

This is not theatre. It is symbolic participation in dissolution. It acknowledges that some things do not need confrontation. They need softening.

When MERCURY is retrograde in PISCES, words lose rigidity. Allow this practice to honour that truth.

FOOD for PISCES SEASON

PISCES SEASON benefits from foods that are warm, gently spiced, and fluid in texture to support synovial and lymphatic flow without increasing dampness.

LEEK, PEARL BARLEY and WHITE BEAN SOUP

Rinse a generous handful of pearl barley under cold water until it runs clear. Barley is ancient and steadying. It carries a subtle drying quality that helps counter late-winter dampness, yet it feeds the bones and supports sustained energy.

Soak one cup of dried white beans overnight if you are planning ahead, or use a jar of good quality cooked white beans, rinsed and drained. White beans bring softness and protein. They fortify without heaviness, supporting the immune system and the quiet work of the glands that PISCES governs.

Slice two large leeks lengthways, then into thin half-moons. Wash them thoroughly. Leeks hold soil between their layers, and this soup asks for clarity. Leeks are gently pungent and warming. They encourage movement in the lymph and help disperse stagnation without aggression.

In a heavy pot, warm a generous glug of olive oil over a low heat. Add the leeks with a pinch of sea salt. Let them soften slowly. Do not rush this. They should melt rather than brown. Stir occasionally, breathing in their sweetness as it deepens.

Add one finely chopped celery stalk and a small carrot if you wish for subtle sweetness. Then stir in the rinsed barley. Let it coat in the oil and leek mixture for a minute or two. Add the soaked and drained beans if using dried.

Pour over enough vegetable stock or filtered water to cover everything generously, about one and a half litres. Add a bay leaf, a few sprigs of fresh thyme, and a strip of lemon peel to brighten the broth without sharpness.

Bring the pot to a gentle boil, then reduce to a slow simmer. Cover partially and allow it to cook until the barley is tender and the beans are soft. This may take forty-five minutes if using pre-cooked beans, longer if starting from dried. Stir occasionally, adding more water if needed. The texture should remain brothy, not thick and stodgy. PISCES needs flow.

When ready, remove the bay and thyme stems. Stir in a handful of finely chopped flat-leaf parsley and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Taste. Adjust salt. Add black pepper for gentle warmth.

Ladle into bowls while steaming. Drizzle a thread of olive oil over the surface. Eat slowly.

Feel the warmth travel downward. Notice how the body receives it. Barley supports structure. Leek moves stagnation. Beans nourish. Parsley clears. This is food for the in-between season, when the earth is wet and the body is recalibrating.

Eat it through PISCES SEASON when the tides feel heavy and you need grounding without dullness.

It is simple. It is steady. It holds you while the waters move.
