SEVEN WEEKS of ROOTING the SPARK - ASTROLOGY for THE SEASON AHEAD.
At the VERNAL EQUINOX, the SUN enters ARIES, the NEW ASTROLOGICAL YEAR begins. It arrives through light first, a wash of pale gold and wet green, spreading like thin honey over fields still holding the memory of cold. The air carries a silver brightness, almost audible, like glass lightly struck. Day and night rest in equal measure, a held chord, neither rising nor falling. Across the world this moment has long been marked with flame and water, with bitter leaves and sweet fruits, with hands placed into soil that smells of iron and thaw. Smoke curls blue into the sky. Citrus is cut open. Seeds press into dark earth that yields at last.
There is a scent of beginnings, sharp and mineral, threaded with something floral not yet visible. It moves through breath, through skin, through the quiet places that register change before language forms. The year begins here, not as concept, but as a red-gold pulse moving through everything, touching thought, movement, desire. This year, that pulse carries direction.
MERCURY has just turned direct at the doorway of this season. The sky clears in a way that is rare enough to feel physical. Every planet moves forward. No retrograde motion. No turning back across old ground. The current runs clean, uninterrupted. This will not hold for long. By early May, PLUTO begins to slow and turn, and the rhythm changes. For now, there is a contained stretch of time, just under seven weeks, where movement meets no resistance from the sky.
We feel this as clarity in motion. Times sharpens. Edges return. Decisions land more cleanly in the body. There is less echo, less looping. What we do meets the world more directly.

The period that lead us to this moment has carried a different texture. MERCURY moved through PISCES, drawing us into water, into memory, into spaces that had not yet been closed. NEPTUNE (now in ARIES) spent years there, dissolving edges, softening form. SATURN asked for structure within that softness. As MERCURY retraced those waters, we moved through what remained. Not to stay, not to rebuild, but to gather. To notice what was left behind. To close doors with care. That work matters now. This was defining process even if we didn’t recognise it in the moment. The air we now step into carries the difference between what has been completed and what has been avoided. Some of us move forward lighter. Some carry more than we need. The current does not pause to organise this for us. It moves.
The sky is quicksilver ARIES. SATURN stands here. NEPTUNE stands here. The SUN has crossed into this same fire. This is the first time in decades that these forces settle together in this way, not passing through, not returning to water, but holding position. The ground beneath this season is firm, heated, responsive. SATURN in ARIES asks for commitment that can be lived through repetition. NEPTUNE in ARIES carries vision that feels necessary, almost cellular. Together they shape something precise. A dream that requires hands. A desire that requires time. What begins here does not remain an idea. It asks to be built.

JUPITER has already turned direct in CANCER, restoring a quieter expansion. Growth moves through what we tend, what we care for, what we allow to root. There is support here, though it does not shout. It gathers through consistency, through attention. And then the fire strengthens. MARS moves from PISCES into ARIES and something sharpens. Energy becomes immediate, directional, harder to defer. The distance between impulse and action shortens. When MARS meets NEPTUNE, vision enters the body. What has been imagined begins to ask for movement. When MARS meets SATURN, that movement meets form. Effort becomes structured. Friction appears where seriousness is required. When MERCURY joins them, thought aligns with action. Words land with consequence. Decisions take shape.
This sequence builds with directed intention. At the same time, URANUS prepares to enter GEMINI, shifting the field of communication itself. Thought, language, exchange begin to reorganise at a foundational level. The way we share, learn, connect will not remain as it has been. Those who move with awareness now begin to root themselves in that change. All of this unfolds while every planet moves forward.

The quality of this window is distinct. The ground responds quickly. What we place into it takes. There is less delay between action and result. Less interference. Less distortion. This is where the LONG and PRESENT GAME (see the SUNDAY LETTER) meets action. We have been tending, what were are tending. Writing, thinking, circling, questioning, allowing something to take form slowly. That does not disappear. It deepens. Yet within it, this moment asks for placement. Something chosen, something enacted, something given shape outside of us.
ARIES SEASON always brings a spark. This year, the spark meets structure, vision, and time. It sticks. It builds. It continues beyond the first moment of heat. By early May, the rhythm changes. PLUTO turns inward. Later, SATURN and NEPTUNE will follow. The second half of the year draws us back into reflection, into integration, into the quieter work of sustaining what has already been set in motion. So we work with what is here, NOW, these SEVEN WEEKS. Light spreads. We step forward with what we have, even if it is unfinished, even if it is still forming. We place it into the world and we allow it to become what it is meant to be, through time, through action, through the steady continuation of what has now begun. See the ASTROLOGY for THE WEEK AHEAD and ARIES SEASON for the connection to how these energies flow in each ZODIAC SIGN.
SEVEN WEEKS is not an arbitrary measure of time. It appears again and again where something has already begun and is learning how to hold. After awakening, there are SEVEN WEEKS of staying, of inhabiting what has been realised. After planting, there are weeks where the seed breaks open in darkness and begins to organise itself toward light. This is that kind of time. What we begin now does not remain a spark. It enters the work of becoming. It takes root, finds structure, gathers strength. We do not rush it, and we do not step away from it. We stay with it, we tend it, we allow it to form through us and around us, until it becomes something that can continue.
This is a collective moment, yet it lands in each of us differently. The fire gathers in specific places, asks for movement through particular areas of our lives, touches what is ready and what still hesitates. To understand where this INITIATION meets your own chart, where the seed is being placed and what it is asking to become, we can look at it together. This is the work I offer through my readings, a space for precision, for depth, for seeing clearly what is forming and how to move with it. Book a reading with me.
