Intense times mean we sometimes experience life as if we are in wild white water. To honour VATA season and the ECLIPSES it brings we are grounding by making this delicious cup and have created a CHAI RITUAL to go with it (scroll down).
STICKY MASALA CHAI is one of @bohoboaromatherapies most popular potions and its lusciousness only grows. Great for circulation and warmth it is also amazing for will power and can give us strength on the even the windiest days.
In this deliciously sticky blend, we use fresh ginger to increase digestive fire agni. Green cardamom is sweet and warm, helping move Vata energy into a centring direction for clarity. Cinnamon, gently sweet, promotes feelings of balanced comfort and love, as well as warming hands and feet that can suffer from coldness in Autumn. Clove is a powerful antibacterial and antifungal. It also makes us feel amazing and is an analgesic. Black pepper is our secret ingredient, great for circulation and warmth it is also amazing for will power on the even the windiest autumn days. Fennel seeds offer gut soothing digestion.
INGREDIENTS
6 green cardamom pods
1 cinnamon stick
5 cloves
6 black peppercorns
1 tbsp fresh ginger
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tbsp loose leaf black tea leaves
1 tbsp black treacle
Honey to taste
Add all the spices to a pan and warm through. Use a wooden rolling pin to break them up. Add the ginger. When heated through take off the heat, add the tea, black treacle and honey. This can be used straight away or stored in a jar in the fridge.
CHAI RITUAL
To prepare the chai as a ritual begin by lighting a candle. Add one large teaspoon of the chai mix to a cup of milk and heat on low for a few minutes. The longer you heat it the stronger it gets.
Let your senses explore the spices as they rise to meet your nose.
Strain into a beautiful cup and sip quietly, allowing your attention to follow the tastes.
