ROSE FACE BALM RECIPE

ROSE FACE BALM RECIPE

Because Venus as an evening star is always an unexpected beauty, and we should never resist the desire to anoint our selves with deliciously scented balms that soothe our surfaces, enhances holistic wellbeing, and lifts our souls.

This regenerating ROSE FACE BALM uses calming and beautifying ROSE oil. If you don‘t have any you can use it unscented or take an extra step in the process to infuse the oils with 2 tablespoons of dried rose petals overnight.

I used this balm leading up to my wedding (and did really nothing else in preparation) but it is REALLY PERFECT at the seasons change when our skin, particularly if you are a little older (I am 49), takes a little longer to catch up with the moment it is in.

This makes two good sized jars so follow the recipe and give one to your favourite person, or half it.

  • ¼ cup apricot kernel oil
  • 2 tablespoons beeswax (or 1 ½ tablespoons candeilia wax as a vegan alternative)
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 2 tablespoons rosehip oil
  • 1 teaspoon carrot oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea buckthorn oil
  • 8 drops rose essential oil
  • 8 drops ylang ylang

Method:

  1. PRE STEP if you don’t have good quality rose oil. Place the dried rose petals into the apricot kernel oil and let infuse overnight.Strain train the oil through a muslin or a sieve. Squeeze the rose petals well to release the oil.
  2. Combine the rose infused oil and beeswax (or candelilla wax) into a heat proof glass of jug (if you use a jar you don’t have to change it later).
  3. Place the container into a saucepan filled with a small amount of water and heat on medium-low until the wax has melted completely – this is important to not have a grainy texture later.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  5. Add the avocado, carrot, sea buckthorn, rosehip, and the essential oils, mix well.
  6. Carefully pour the mixture into jars. Place the lid on and let it cool.

These keep well without including water for 9-12 months.

How To Use: Place a nub into the palm of your hands and rub together to create warmth. Breathe in the oils and press lovingly into your skin.
